Aseprite plugin that counts how many pixels are used for each RGB color.
Developed using Aseprite's API and programmed in Lua.
To quickly count how much of each color is used in pixel art which is especially helpful when converting pixel art into other mediums (e.g. embroidery, fuse beads).
You can download the program here. You can check out the source code here.
Must have Aseprite downloaded
The plugin works on Asperite v1.3.7 or later
Download the latest version of color-counter-vx.x.x.aseprite-extension here.
Run the downloaded file and click through the prompts to install the extension.
You can select part of the sprite to only count colors within the selected area.
You can add a keyboard shortcut by going to Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts > search for Count Cololors > hover over Key column and click on the Add button > fill in details > click OK
Open a sprite in Aseprite that's in RGB mode.
Go to Sprite > Count Colors to use the plugin or use the keyboard shortcut if you set that up.
Avoid using the color counter outside of pixel or simple art as that will cause Aseprite to freeze due to performance issues
Sprite must be in RGB mode
